“Opa en oma Spanje”

For a school assignment, I was asked to follow someone for a day and describe their daily life. I immediately thought of my biggest hero: my grandmother my “Grandma Spain,” as I’ve always called her.

My grandmother has a tracheostomy and a feeding tube. This means she has to speak through a special button and can barely eat. And yet, despite all of this, she remains the kindest grandmother anyone could wish for and always stays positive. She’s also incredibly beautiful and always takes great care of her appearance.

After my grandfather passed away two years ago, she continued to show an enormous amount of strength. She still takes care of the house, does the groceries, cooks, and keeps everything going always with courage and determination. My grandmother stands so strong on her own two feet. I truly couldn’t ask for a greater role model.
